Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-surgical treatment, and works by delivering impulses of energy,
targeted to specific damaged tissues within the abnormal tendon, cells and tissues.

We have been using this specialist piece of equipment for a few years now, with great long-
lasting results.

The application of shock waves, known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is an evidence-based, effective treatment for plantar fasciitis and most tendon conditions including Achilles, hamstring, patellar, gluteal and tennis elbow tendinopathies.

If you are struggling with any of the above or are struggling to shift a chronic injury then shockwave therapy is a treatment for you.

The benefits of Shockwave Therapy

  •  Fast and effective

  •  Clinically proven

  •  No medication

  •  No side effects

  •  Non-invasive

Research shows that treatment every 7-10 days is optimal.

Acupuncture needles can be placed where the injury occurred in the muscle or
tissue, and also the surrounding areas. Their insertion provides a minor trauma to the skin, which stimulates the production of pain-relieving chemicals both locally at the trauma site, and at the brain and spinal cord level.

A 2018 meta-analysis Trusted Source of acupuncture’s effect on chronic pain found that the practice can provide pain relief benefits distinguishable from placebo.

Acupuncture is completely safe and is effective within treating conditions such as:

  •  low back pain

  •  neck pain

  •  osteoarthritis (OA)

  •  knee pain

  •  headaches, migraines and nausea

The number of treatments a person will need depends on their individual case. Someone with a chronic condition may need one or two treatments per week over several months.
